We are excited to announce that during library, Mrs. Berkeley, our school counselor, and Mrs. Mitra, our school librarian, will be starting a unit called HISstory, HERstory, MYstory, OURstory: Creating an Inclusive Community.
In this unit, students will be exploring equity and empathy, what is special about themselves and writing their story. As part of their research and exploration, they will be reading stories about various cultures in our community.
Links celebrating cultural experiences not often represented in children’s literature have been posted on the Library Clever page to be enjoyed by all. (See below.) I hope you and your child will enjoy listening to these stories and learning about yourselves and others.
