Isle of Wight County Schools will be providing tablets to students in kindergarten through 5th grade who have no access to a device.
When it will happen:
Wednesday, April 29, from 4:00 to 8:00
Thursday--times cancelled due to weather
Friday, May 1, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
Where it will happen:
Smithfield Middle School (NOT CAES)
How it will happen:
First come, first served
Everyone will stay in the vehicles and drive from station to station.
IWCS staff will wear gloves and masks and maintain a safe social distance.
Who may pick up:
Only the adult noted as the student’s parent/guardian in PowerSchool may pick up an iPad.
What else to know:
Please bring photo ID and a pen.
Only one iPad per family will be distributed.
Plan to wait patiently in your car. (What a perfect time to have your child read to you!)
We truly appreciate your consideration of those students who do not currently have access to a device; this is an effort for these children to be able to keep up with the instructional opportunities provided through apps and the Internet.
