CAES Weekly Update: November 23, 2019

Carrollton Families,

Isle of Wight County Schools is currently participating in the federal government's Impact Aid Program. Impact Aid is a federal grant program designed to help pay for the education of federally connected children. The amount of funding is based on the number of IWCS students whose parents are connected with the federal government. To determine if our school system is eligible for funding, each school will need to conduct a survey. The information from these surveys will be used to support our request for Impact Aid funds. An Impact Aid form was sent home with each student's report card, and a copy of the form is also attached to this e-mail. All information that you provide on the Impact Aid Program Survey Form will be treated confidentially. Please return the signed form to school by December 2, 2019. The more Federal funding we receive, the more we can do for students, so I appreciate your assistance with ensuring we have proper documentation for the IWCS Impact Aid application.

  • … forall those plastic bagsfor our Engineering class – we have enough for now!
  • … to all that participated in the “Create Your Own Invention” STEM family project.  It’s been exciting to see the students' inventions and interests. They were amazing! Our Junior Engineers shared their projects with confidence and inspired others to create inventions. I'm so pleased and proud of all the students. This was a huge success because of you. Thank you for supporting your child and STEM.  (The projects are displayed in the lobby and will be sent home after Thanksgiving.) – Mrs. P. Hall
  • … to everyone who contributed time and food so the staff could have a special duty-free Thanksgiving luncheon Friday!

Be intentional over the next several days to take time to relax with your family and reflect on all the many reasons you have to be grateful – happy Thanksgiving!
